Chanting, theatre, storytelling and music can carry Buddhist teachings and cultural memory. They are not interchangeable practices, and communities differ in how they use performance. A contemporary song may be inspired by Dhamma without being a canonical text. Listen for the values it expresses, credit creators and keep poetic language distinct from doctrinal explanation. Enjoyment can coexist with thoughtful interpretation.
