Buddhist scriptures include discourses, monastic discipline and analytical works. The Pāli Tipiṭaka is organised as Vinaya, Sutta and Abhidhamma. Mahāyāna sūtras and tantric texts belong to additional, diverse collections. No single modern-language book contains every Buddhist scripture. Identify a text’s collection, translator and tradition; online availability does not mean a translation is free of copyright.
