Youth communities can make room for study, friendship, service, creativity and leadership. Young people are participants now, not merely future volunteers. Meaningful roles include planning a discussion, designing accessible material or helping a newcomer feel included. Participation should respect study, work and family commitments. A good activity welcomes uncertainty and does not measure faith by attendance or the amount of unpaid work someone can provide.
