Women contribute as monastics, lay teachers, organisers, artists, supporters and practitioners. Roles and ordination opportunities differ across Buddhist traditions and institutions. Acknowledging these differences need not obscure questions of dignity, safety and meaningful participation. Credit women’s work accurately, share leadership opportunities and respond seriously to concerns. Respect is expressed in everyday decisions, not only ceremonial praise.
