A Buddhist community can include monastics, lay practitioners, families, elders, young people and newcomers. Learning, practice and service work best when roles are clear and questions welcome. Belonging should not depend on wealth or fluency in a particular language. Before joining an activity, check accessibility and expectations. A healthy community can receive concerns and correct mistakes, not simply ask members to remain silent.
