Wesak commonly commemorates the Buddha’s birth, awakening and final passing, although observance calendars and customs vary. Kathina is a Theravāda robe-offering observance connected with the end of the rains retreat and specific monastic conditions. It is not simply another name for any donation event. Before visiting, check the host’s programme and etiquette. Generosity matters alongside respectful participation.
